Nereyda M. Hurtado, Ph.D.
Nereyda is a child development expert who spent over a decade as a researcher at Stanford University, where she conducted studies on language development and parenting practices with monolingual and bilingual families living in the Bay Area. As GFS Associate Director, Nereyda partners with the Executive Director to act as a strategic thought partner to shape, implement and advance GFS’s mission, goals, and programmatic strategy. She is responsible for the oversight, development, implementation, and evaluation of annual program work plans that are aligned with the strategic priorities of the organization. She currently serves on the Board of Fluent SEEDS. Nereyda graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a doctorate in educational psychology.
