Engaging parents in promoting their children’s healthy development
The BBP App is an interactive tool that provides families with access to information, resources, and connections to promote their young children’s healthy development and learning.
The App was created by Grail Family Services to provide underserved families with equitable access to child development information and parenting strategies that support child success.
The BBP App was co-designed by educators, families and DC Design, a social-impact strategy and design firm, using the Human-Centered Design Approach. The App is unique in that it is the only parenting app that was designed and developed with direct input and feedback from parents.
The BBP App addresses the identified needs of families through its 3 main components:
- Personalized My Child section that includes evidence-based Child Developmental Milestones (ages 0-6 years) and allows families to track their child’s progress by age.
- Information and activities tied to the milestones to help parents support their child’s development, plus weekly notifications on resources and additional ways to engage.
- A parenting forum to increase social connections and create a supportive learning community.
